Whether you have a large enterprise or a small business, information technology is one of the pillars of your success. It is the same for any translation provider. The question is always, to what degree do we use technology and what is the human part of the work?

Our approach is based on prudent innovation and training. In other words, we use CAT (Computer Assisted Translation) Tools in all our projects AND we constantly train our resources to use them properly. AI is obviously in the future but currently MT (Machine Translation) is limited to extremely technical and repetitive materials for which the proprietary data base of terms and translated segments are created.

Advantages of CAT tools:

  • Consistent terminology as it is stored in databases (or TMs [Translation Memories]) immediately accessible by linguists
  • Consistent style as all the translated segments are also in the TMs
  • Speed as the linguists work much faster with these tools
  • Savings for your as the linguists work faster so they proportionally charge less, the repetitions are automatically populated by the software, and the content is automatically extracted from most DTP applications (InDesign, etc.)

Risks of CAT tools and the solutions we are using:

  • The mistakes are multiplied indefinitely if not fixed in the TMs and the terminology used does not follow the logical evolution of the languages and terms. The specialists managing the TMs need to know the target language to make sure each update is correct in the rest of the sentence. Our solution: our head linguists are trained to manage the TMs and fix the mistakes immediately.
  • Contextual errors as a same segment will be translated differently according to its context. Our solution: each project is submitted to a final QA to avoid any potential error.
